Bloodmood
...The monsters have escaped the lab...
There are several poorly funded sinister institutions for studying the paranormal in the UK. Harriet was once an employee for such an institution, working on the basement level to study three vampiric test subjects. After recieving two many vampire bites and a nasty telepathic curse that makes her a vampire's thrall, she decides to quit her job and leave the Institute behind. A replacement vampire-wrangler is not found on time, and soon the vampires get loose, and release the other creatures and monsters studied at the Institute - werewolves, aliens, trolls and gnomes to name a few.
The story of Bloodmood follows Harriet, the disgraced vampire researcher, and Victor, the vampire she has a telepathic connection to. The two of them are hired as part of a Vampire Recovery Team by Trixie, a fairy who was herself once a test subject but is now a manager at the Institute. They are joined by a secret agent (Agent 64) and are on a mission to round up the remaining vampires, and rescue Harriet's boyfriend Matt from the undead parasite's mind control.
Bloodmood is a story I have been writing on-and-off since I was a teenager, but I am keen to make a more mature and finished version of the story. This website is one of many ways I plan to share this story!

Content Warnings
This is a story about vampires, so there is a lot of graphic and bloody violence. I really enjoy the horror genre and gore so I will describe injury detail. Overall the tone is lighthearted and comedic but there will be drops in mood. There are frequent sex mentions but no sex scenes - however these are adult characters and Harriet's sexual history is relevant to the plot (themes of cheating etc. are also present). I will add some more niche content warnings here; if you are squicked by vomiting, I am afraid that vampires respond to most negative stimuli by throwing up, they also purge a weird blood organ once a month, AND the protagonist starts the story with a sepsis-like fantasy disease which causes nausea and vomiting. Also fire and burns come up frequently; vampires and sunlight do not mix!
